Senior Geotechnical Engineer

The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for undertaking designs and analysis for tender and contract purposes, as well as having a responsibility for leading and maintaining technical excellence internally and externally and providing technical support and training as required.

You will work on projects that involve foundation design in the context of both civil engineering and residential uses, using pile and ground improvement techniques. Your expertise will guide both the design and execution of safe, economic and efficient ground engineering solutions whilst ensuring that designs meet project specifications and industry standards.

  • Contribute to a generative, interdependent safety culture by effective communication between customers, design, estimating and operations (plus others as required or necessary).
  • Competitive tender designs produced to the timescale required by the regional estimating teams.
  • Ensure that design risks are recorded and clearly communicated.
  • Ensure that designs take proactive account of health, safety, welfare and sustainability.
  • Improve profitability by addressing assumptions and ambiguities proactively and in a timely manner.
  • Manage and develop junior members of the CST design team
  • Previous experience in the Piling industry would be beneficial but not essential.  You must be competent in contributing to more complex engineering projects and be fully conversant with Eurocode/ BS standards.
  • You must hold a degree qualification ideally in Civil Engineering or Geology or a similar discipline.
  • Due to the travel requirements of this role candidates must hold a UK driving license.
