Roger Bullivant Limited (RBL) is proud to announce its ongoing partnership with Story Homes for the Riverbrook Gardens development in Alnwick, Northumberland. This expansive residential project will bring 3, 4, and 5-bedroom homes to the region, and RBL has been chosen as the foundation contractor for multiple visits. This contract reinforces RBL’s capability of supporting large-scale residential projects and emphasises the advanced engineering solutions and efficient delivery the company brings to each phase.
In the latest phase, the team will install over 850 No. Driven Precast Concrete Piles along with 3,600 linear metres of RBL’s precast ground beam system, RBeam. This system, manufactured offsite at RBL’s HQ in South Derbyshire, integrates modern construction techniques to deliver an efficient foundation solution designed to meet the needs of large-scale developments. Offsite manufacturing is critical to RBeam’s efficiency, as components are produced in controlled environments that ensure consistent quality, minimise on-site labour, and reduce material waste, making it more desirable compared to traditional methods. Offsite production streamlines installation, allowing the team to work with precision because of minimised on-site handling. The RBeam system adheres to Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) principles, classified under MMC Category 3, which involves premanufactured, modular components that maximise project efficiency and quality.

The 200mm square Driven Precast Concrete Piles were carefully selected for their cost-efficiency and effectiveness in dealing with Alnwick’s ground conditions, which include clays, sands, and gravels, therefore providing stable support for the development’s homes and contributing to the longevity of Riverbrook Gardens’ infrastructure.
To date, RBL will have installed a total of1,800 No. piles and 7,400 meters of ground beam, showcasing its logistical expertise and scalable resources in handling high volumes of work within tight deadlines. The success of this phase reinforces RBL’s reputation as a trusted foundation partner for Story Homes in the North East region, where they have collaborated on other projects as well.
