Staff invited to apply for VINCI Foundation funding

The closing date for applications to the VINCI UK Foundation in 2018 is at the end of March with employees invited to nominate projects which may qualify for funding. Grants of between £3k and £20k are awarded to charitable schemes which meet the selection criteria.

Created in 2002, the corporate VINCI Foundation sets up a link between VINCI, a global player in concessions and construction, and the community. For 14 years, it has supported innovative projects carried out by organisations fighting social exclusion. The VINCI UK Foundation supports long term charitable projects sponsored by the Group’s employees in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Roger Bullivant Limited(RB) is part of the global VINCI GROUP.

The VINCI UK Foundation will prioritise projects which aim to tackle the issues in the following areas of action through an innovative approach and which will make a positive, measurable impact on the local area. The four areas of action are: Access to employment, Insertion through housing, Inclusive mobility, Building better communities.

The Foundation is currently supporting 24 projects across Great Britain and Ireland, having given out grants totalling £190,000 in 2017.  Four of the projects have been suggested and sponsored by people from within Bachy Soletanche, Vibro Menard or Roger Bullivant –  projects include: 

  • Second Rossendale Scout Group; Awarded £5,000 towards kitchen refurbishment, Sponsor: Marc Evans (Vibro Menard)
  • Hawley Community Garden; Awarded £3,000 towards the costs of a toilet. Sponsor: Chris Merridew (Bachy)
  • Riverside Community Hall, Burton on Trent; Awarded £4,200 towards damp proof membrane and floor in community hall. Sponsor: Phil Torr (RB)
  • Slough Homeless, Our Concern (SHOC); Awarded £10,000 towards kitchen refurbishment, Sponsor: Philomena Parr (Westpile)

Further to the financial commitment, employees are also encouraged to get involved in volunteering. Staff are offered one paid day per quarter to volunteer on one of the projects supported by the Foundation.

  • UK Group Managing Director and Chairman of the UK Foundation Phil Hines is pictured canoeing along the Trent in Burton on Trent. Last year the Foundation assisted with funding for a lift shaft to provide disabled access to the upper floors at the town’s canoe club.
